well it's a whole new year and another semester is at hand. oh my gosh i'm not ready to start school again. blah! i'm so sick of school yet i love it here, but you can't have one without the other. suck! well i guess i have no choice but to press on. one more semester after this. scary!

the break was good. spent most of my time doing nothing. rode the road bike a few times, but i'm definitely not in the shape i was. i'll get there though. i got a lot of great things christmas. probably one of the best christmas' i've ever had. no lie! turned 21 while i was at it too. didn't really do anything for the b-day. well i actually went and watched my younger brother play basketball, but i'm glad i got to watch him play since i don't make it home very often. it was awesome hangin out with fam and my dogs, but then again, i'm glad to back.

i hope this semester goes better than last in many ways. so far it seems to be going pretty well. spent a lot of time with the ATO bros and my biking buds. me and brandon (and maybe andy) are planning to spend this long weekend in dallas making a tour to the mtn biking trails up there. two days worth to be exact. i'm pretty pumped about that. then the next weekend, we (me andy brandon and one more person who has yet to be selected) are going to go to warda and do the 12 hour race down there. definitely going to have a great time with that for sure!

i don't know much else. not much seems to be going on right now, save trying to figure out what i'm going to do next summer. but oh well. we'll see what comes about. good luck to all with the new semester. hasta!

wow. haven't been here in a while. so i guess i need to do an update huh?

so school is finally done for the semester. so glad it's over, i was really getting tired of my classes, but isn't that usually the case? i'm nervous about the ole grades. i think i did really well on all of my finals, and hopefully will boost the final grade a bunch. i guess i'll have to wait and see when baylor finally decides or my profs finally decide to submit my grades. fingers crossed...

finals totally took away from my time on the bike. but in the past two days i've spent around 4.5-5 hrs total at cameron park mountain biking. it's been amazing. not riding in awhile is easily noticed. i'm definitely not in the best shape, which is ok since racing has kind of on a hiatus. but once the semester gets goin again, it'll be hardcore training for sure. also have kinda picked up on the whole poker thing. i'm not any good, by any stretch of the imagination. there's a bunch of us that get together at the "tau" house and play. i may suck, but it's always a good time hangin out with everybody. according to the facebook group, my new nickname is "speed racer" i think that's pretty cool, and fitting. definitely better than "spandex", that's for sure.

i don't know much else. of course i never do. nothing really exciting going on in this thing we call life. i'm just doing the few things that i do best. sleeping, eating, and biking. boring i know, but oh well... So until my next post, "Go Speed Racer, Go"

So I've come to the conclusion, well, reaffirmed my conclusion that very few people will ever fully understand, even remotely understand at that, what this whole mountain/road biking thing is to me. It's stupid and ridiculous when somebody comes up and calls me out because they feel that i should be at other things rather than at a race. WTF?!?!!? that's bullshit!! I really can understand that you don't get it, why it's fun, why riding my bike nearly every day = training even though i love it every time i'm riding. But the minute you get pissed off because i was competing for my school, even though it's a club sport and not NCAA, and not somewhere else is when my understanding stops and my frustration and anger kicks in.

Don't EVER, let me reiterate, EVER!!! tell me that biking is not a sport and that i should skip races to be somewhere else that you think i should be because that (and pardon the french again) is total BULLSHIT!!!!! so if you don't get it and you have a problem with it, just keep your f-ing mouth shut and comments to yourself and freaking GET OVER IT that i just might be more involved than you at this place we call college and actually participate in a sport outside of intramurals!!!

Ah xanga. Time for me to visit you once again. Shall we dig in?

So I want to start off this post by saying that I am absolutley sick of school, sick of stupid and worthless projects, and sick of hankamer high bull crap. For you non baylorites, hankamer high is the name given to the business school. I swear all i'm really going to get out of this is just a piece of paper that says i complete the requirements for my major and graduated from Baylor. I have really yet to really learn anything that is of importance, at least for now and that frustrates me. I want to be able to say i learned something interesting in class, but that has yet to ever happen, save my geology and business writing classes. Retarded and stupid is all i can say.

On a positive note, I got a postcard from Specialized on monday saying that they got my resume and are reviewing it. Which is really good since i had to submit it via email. So if they decide to give me an interview, they'll call me in the next couple of weeks to set it up. I really hope i get this opportunity because it involves something that i'm passionate about and a culture i'm apart of. So we can only hope and pray.

Speaking of that passion/culture, had a mountain bike race this weekend. U of Houston decided that they wanted to host one last minute race, so of course i'm down with that. However, I was skeptical about even being able to race...I just so happened to donate my body (right quad muscle specifically) to science and had muscle tissue extracted 4 times this past week via muscle biopsy. crazy i know, but it actually wasn't any worse than some of the injuries i've gotten mountain biking. plus i get $100 out of it, so you know no biggie. ANYWAYS, i decided to race and actually did well. I got 5th out of 12 or 13 people (keep in mind no riding or anything all week). so needless to say i'm stoked about that.  my right leg is definitley not happy with me though, a little weak all day, but it'll be good tomorrow. I really liked the course too, weaving in and out the tall pines is just awesome and yes gorgeous and the smell of the pine trees is just refreshing, not gonna lie. So racing's done for the semester, but i can't wait until it starts back up in the spring.

Well guys and gals, that's all i shall write for this post. going to start writing stuff for my two major projects that i due next week. leave some comments, eprops, whatever cause they're nice to get every once in a while. hasta!

well well well...hello again. been a bit since i updated the ole xanga, so might as well keep up or whatever.

homecoming has come and gone. whew! worked hard on float, but not near as hard as i wanted to. stupid corporate finance test on friday definitely took up the last three days of last week so i didn't get to really hit it hard, but i totally rocked that test. i think that's the best i've ever done a test in a business class of a 3000 level, well higher in this case since it's a stinkin 4000 level. so i'm pretty proud of that. which keeps reminding me that my time here at BU is growing shorter every minute, 2 more semesters to be exact.
anyways, the parents came down saturday for the parade and the game. definitely had a great time with them as always, never a dull moment, and i'm not kidding.

what else, what else...it rained today. i don't even remember when the last time it rained here, so it was pretty cool to see it just pour and it did. plus thunder and lightning, it was great. speaking of which, why do we say thunder and lightning when clearly the lightning has to come first? i mean c'mon, common sense here folks.
so the next few days will be road bike days while the trails dry out. speaking of which...

thursday me and brandon were out riding and were about to call it a day when i got the bright idea of going up and trying to find this trail that starts somewhere above rock shelter (dirt parking lot at cameron park for those who know what i'm talking about). well we couldn't find it but we did find this wash out type trail, thing and it looked rideable so i decided i'd go for it. bad idea... definitely bailed a quarter of the way down before i could really fly over the handle bars and plummit to the bottom (parking lot). and no i'm not joking it could've happened. nothing major, just the usual chainring cuts and scrapes. so down we hike til the latter third, decide that we can finish it out, remount and fly to the bottom. brandon almost ate into either a lexus or an xterra because he wasn't fully clipped in. but he survived. i went down twice and apparently on my last time down, i had yet another close call. let's just say i was riding down this section of massive lose rocks on just the front tire! i didn't think it was too bad but brandon definitely watched and said he was reaching for the phone to dial 911 because it would've been over had i not recovered. AWESOME!!!! haha.

ok. yet another long post. so proud. hasta!
